I browse facebook from time to time. Sometimes I end up somewhere and I'm like "how did I get here?" I think facebook is like a black hole.........endless amounts of info. Stuff you don't want to see, interesting stuff and the lame boring stuff. One thing I've started to noticed is all these photography pages. People creating photography pages. Which is fine, but it just seems like every one and their mom and uncle have a photography page. I'll see status updates of people asking if they know a photographer and that status will get 329401123 people commenting with a diff photographer they know. It's crazy. I work hard at what I do, and I've worked pretty hard to get as far as I have with taking pictures. Some people honestly think that if they buy a $800-1000 camera, that makes them a photographer. It's kind of irritating. I make art. I take a photo and make it into an enjoyable piece. Adding a little angle on your image isn't going to make you a photographer. Making it black and white isn't going to make you a photographer. Don't even get me started on people copying the way you take an image, cause I have had it happen. I just think it's crazy how soooooo many people have a photography business. I plan to make this a career once I get established in the new city we live in. I will do whatever it takes to have my business and a studio some day. I don't care how long it takes me, I'll make it happen. Everyone has to start small. I guess it's annoying to me when person A takes "normal" pics IMO and gets the clients that I could have gotten.
Another vent on photography is pinterest. I used to really enjoy scrolling through finding unique tutorials or awesome photos for inspiration. That has changed now that everyone has a pinterest. People are pinning RETARDED stuff to the photography category. I kid you not, I saw someone post a picture of a trash can with a duck next to it. They labeled the picture. "Trashcan" and "Duck" NO JOKE. and it wasn't like this pic was done in any professional matter, I'm pretty sure it was taken with a cell phone because of the quality. I just don't enjoy looking on pinterest anymore because people are ruining it.
people ruin everything lol. everything that's fun gets ruined.....
just because you have a nice camera doesn't make you a photographer. leave it to the people that know how to use the manual control. BOOM.
toodles,
A
